Mark D. Catalano, MS, LCSW

For the last 10 years, Mark has worked in the mental health and counseling fields providing services directly and managing clinical departments for hospitals (Seton and St David’s) and academic environments (AISD and University of Texas at Austin).  Mark’s interest in mediation springs from his passion for working with people.  He is a certified community mediator through the Dispute Resolution Center (DRC)  and runs a private therapy practice in North Austin.

Mark is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and certified clinical supervisor through the Social Work Licensing Board of Texas.  Mark’s approach to working with people is grounded in Family Systems Theory.  He has worked with individuals, couples, and families in a counseling capacity and facilitated groups ranging from 10 to 100+ people.  Mark is an experienced trainer and has developed and lead workshops in hospitals, medical practices and churches.  Mark’s leadership and ability to see beyond the “story”, to the heart of the matter, are employed in his mediation work with clients.

Prior to his career in mental health, Mark was a small business owner.  His experience in a wide range of business environments makes him well suited for working with corporate clients ranging from employees to owners.  Mark stays abreast of current business practices and management philosophy through reading, continuing education and by leveraging a network of business relationships developed over years in the Austin community.
